Hi Florian, The version you are using, 3.6.1-beta1, was not tested with VS 2008, but the more recent version 4.0.1 has prebuilt DLLs available that were built with VS 2008: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/netcdf/docs/faq.html#windows_netcdf4 The netCDF-4 library can also be built from source using Visual Studio 2008. Open the solution file win32/NET/netcdf.sln included with the 4.0.1 source: ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/netcdf.tar.gz It looks like we need to update the section of the installation guide on Windows, which was written for VC++ 6.0.
