[netCDF #OJP-212167]: netCDF General - How can I install netCDF with my Mac Pro desktop?

Actually, I use ksh rather than bash, but I don't think it should matter, since 
I'm not using any ksh features when I test building and installing netCDF.  To 
test that, I just tried to rebuild netCDF 3.6.2 from source in bash, with no 
use of a user profile, by starting up in a terminal window with

  $ bash --norc

Here's some more information about my PATH, OS version, and environment:

Everything worked fine from the netcdf-3.6.2 top-level directory with just the 
following command:

  $ ./configure --prefix=/Users/russ/build && make check && make install
