The binary we have precompiled for IRIX64 works for our SGI Octane
machine that has /usr/local/lib32/r4i4 installed. It is a 32-bit
executable with support for 64-bit file offsets.

If you want a 64-bit executable, you will have to build from source,
but that should be easy if you just follow the instructions here:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/netcdf/docs/netcdf-install.html#Quick-Instructions-for-Installing-NetCDF-on-Unix

The only environment variables you will have to set are these:

  CC=/bin/cc
  CFLAGS=-64
  FC=/bin/f77
  FFLAGS=-64
  CXX=/bin/CC
  CXXFLAGS=-64

Then just run the "configure" script, "make test", and "make install".
