Maureen,
It is preferable to have copies of decoders local to the machine
that is doing the decoding instead of having to nfs mount the
directories from another machine- in case the other machine is down etc.

We updated both dchrly and dcwatch with fixes, so you should update
those files on kelvin as well. If the machine is the same OS, etc.
you should be able to just copy over the executables. Make sure you can run 
the decoder from the command line first on that machine before commiting it
to the local disk. You can create symnolic links from the ~ldm/decoders 
directory to
the actual executables in your $GEMEXE directory as well (just remember this
is the case if you start updating GEMPAK and deleting decoders etc.).
