Students: Apply now for FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC Workshop in Boulder, CO, USA
UCAR's COSMIC Program is providing an opportunity for graduate and senior-level undergraduate students to attend and participate in a student session of the Sixth FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC Data Users' Workshop, to be held in Boulder, CO, USA, 30 October - 1 November 2012.
The Unidata Program Center has secured additional funding to encourage student participation in this summer's Users Workshop, "Navigating Earth System Science Data," being held 9-13 July 2012 in Boulder, Colorado.
Unidata's LDM, THREDDS, RAMADDA, and other technologies play integral roles in Pennsylvania State University's provision of meteorological data to their own students and researchers and to the wider university community. A 2011 Community Equipment Award helped Penn State upgrade some of their servers to be more capable and reliable.
During late March and early April 2012 the Unidata Program Center conducted a survey of Cooperative Opportunity for NCEP Data Using IDD Technology (CONDUIT) users to determine which of the model output currently included in the feed are in use, which are candidates for removal from the feed, and which new model runs (if any) should be added to the feed.
The Unidata Users Committee has asked the WMO to consider establishing a web registry of GRIB and BUFR tables. Your comments on this idea would be helpful. And if you have any influence with the WMO, please use it!
