Hi, Bill I assume? I have a question that might intrigue you:
The recent news from the datacenter (below) makes it sound like Himawari files
may not be supported by VisAD. I’ve been using classes like AreaFile from
visad.jar for many years now to retrieve geo satellite data for my tropical
cyclone analysis algorithms. It’s been an easy way to port areafile readers
into Matlab.
How do you think this might work out with the change to Himawari, and then with
GOES-R etc. next year?
