Wang,

If you want to fill in missing data, then look at his paper which
describes of how to do that, which comes with Matlab codes of the
algorithm. The paper and the Matlab codes are available from the
following page.

"Analysis of incomplete datasets: Estimation of mean values and
covariance matrices and imputation of missing values"
http://www.gps.caltech.edu/~tapio/imputation/index.html

The codes could be easily ported to Java using JAMA which is already
part of the VisAD API. If you're going to port the Matlab codes, you can
email me offline, where I can give you a hand in there.

Cheers,
Sione.
