Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
The latest source jar file on the VisAD ftp server includes a new file visad/bom/TrackManipulation.java that enables users to manipulate complex storm track shapes in a display. While this particular shape probably has limited interest, TrackManipulation.java can serve as a useful model for people who want to add manipulation of other complex shapes to their programs. TrackManipulation.java draws in graphics coordinates by constructing a VisADGeometryArray for Shape. A program can also draw in data coordinates by constructing a UnionSet of Gridded2DSets.
