Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.

This is described in Section 6 of the VisAD README file,
which is available from:

  http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~billh/README

and is also linked from the VisAD web page.

The visad.jar file contains compiled classes and does not
need to be compiled. If you downloaded visad.jar into
the "\parent_dir" directory, then all you need to do is
add "\parent_dir\visad.jar" to your CLASSPATH.

If you want to compile from source, then you need to
download visad_src.2.0.jar and follow the instructions
in Section 3 of the README file.

Good luck,
Bill
