Is this the proper forum to request that a tag be added to the CF-1.x conventions. In the interest of usability, I would like to see a tag that contains an Open Geospatial Consortium WKT representation of the Spatial Reference System under grid_mapping_name example grid_mapping_name:spatial_ref lambert_conformal_conic:spatial_ref = "PROJCS["unnamed",GEOGCS["unknown",DATUM["unknown",SPHEROID["Sphere",6371200,0]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0],UNIT["degree",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION["Lambert_Conformal_Conic_2SP"],PARAMETER["standard_parallel_1",33],PARAMETER["standard_parallel_2",45],PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin",40],PARAMETER["central_meridian",0],PARAMETER["false_easting",0],PARAMETER["false_northing",0]]" This is a well defined standard, and can be read by many applications on the fly.
