We recently took a look at developing an ISO 19115 profile for GCMD DIF
metadata, as part of the UK Natural Environment Research Council's
metadata activities. A first report is available:

The crosswalk was mostly straightforward, but a number of issues were
identified (and outlined in the 'Issues' section, p24-25).
