On July 19, 2012, at 1600 UTC, NESDIS will replace the AMSU Rainfall Rate and SSM/I Rainfall Rate products (two products) currently on AWIPS with the new, higher quality, Blended RR (bRR) products. The specifications of the new products follow. . Sectors Used for bRR AWIPS Products and Associated WMO Headers (these are the same headers applied to the AMSU Rainfall Rate Products): - Super National -- TITN29 KNES - Alaska National -- TITB29 KNES - Hawaii National -- TITI29 KNES - Puerto Rico National -- TITQ29 KNES . Data Volumes: Alaska National - 220781 Bytes Hawaii National - 745445 Bytes Puerto Rico National - 220781 Bytes Super National - 388373 Bytes. . Once complete, the new bRR product will become the operational product for both AWIPS-I and AWIPS-II. Within AWIPS-I, the change should be transparent for everyone. In AWIPS-II, the product does appear differently and a DR (discrepancy report) has been submitted and is currently expected to be resolved with OB 12.9.1 .
