EUMETCast maintenance:
A DVB setting called "Section Packing" will be enabled for all EUMETCast channels, in order to make the transmission more effective. This change is recognised automatically by the reception devices. Section packing is already active on Info-Channel-2 to allow users to confirm that their hardware correctly handles this setting.
Please check if following file types are received on Info-Channel-2:
E-UNS_*-DAILY_LOG-*
E-UNS_Weekly_Operations_Schedule_*
In case of problems please contact ops@xxxxxxxxxxxx immediately.

02 February 2010 12:00 UTC
OSI-SAF products move to SAF-Global channel and become available to users in Africa and America.
EUMETCast requirements:
Files for all users (Ku and C-band) will appear on the channel "SAF-Global" (multicast address 224.223.222.32). For EUMETCast Europe and Africa it will be on PID 300, for EUMETCast Americas it will be on PID 1922. Existing OSI SAF users can prepare in advance for the change any time before 2nd Feb:
- please add the PID 300 to the DVB configuration (if not already selected)
- if a wildcard is used in recv-channels.ini (section starting with [*]), no further change is needed - if a dedicated target directory is used for SAF data in recv-channels.ini, add a section for the SAF-Global channel with the same target directory, e.g. add the following lines
[SAF-Global]
target_directory=<add here the target directory name> tmp_directory=<add here the temporary directory name>
