Update on TDWR SPG Product Distribution

17 December 2008

NEW UPDATE AS OF 12/17/08:

1. Beta Test of TDWR SPG Product Distribution Updates.

a. We have not resolved communications problems with the TSLC – SPG connection. The next opportunity to initiate this data flow will be Tuesday, January 6, 2009 after the holiday moratorium (December 19 through January 5) on new connections/changes.

b. Products continue to be collected from the SPGs connected to: TFLL, TLVE, TPBI, TMIA, TEWR, and TDTW.

2. TDWR SPG Status Update Page. The real-time monitoring of WSR-88D - TDWR SPG product status is available at: http://weather.noaa.gov/monitor/radar3/. Early in 2009 when system upgrades are completed, this consolidated monitoring page will be available via the current monitoring page URL: http://weather.noaa.gov/monitor/radar/. We will advise users of the planned transition date in advance.

3. Real-time Displays of TDWR Products. The NWS is testing displays of TDWR products for incorporation in the RIDGE web site (http://radar.weather.gov/). We will announce when the products will be available for all users when the testing is completed – planned for February 2009.

Additional information on the TDWR SPG project and products are available at: ftp://ftp.roc.noaa.gov/PUB/TDWR_SPG_INFO.
