THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION COMES FROM NESDIS CONCERNING
A GOES-EAST MANEUVER TO TAKE PLACE NOV 18:
~
GOES-12 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on
Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 1723 UTC. ***Note that this is changed
from the original maneuver date of November 16, due to AWIPS testing
being performed on November 16. THERE IS NO BACKUP DAY FOR THIS
MANEUVER.***
On November 18, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to
support maneuver operations: (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full
Disk scan period to support the primary GOES-12 outage during the
maneuver.*)
GOES-12 Maneuver Schedule starts at 1006 UTC on November 18, 2004.
GOES-12 Southern Hemisphere scan at 1009 UTC is canceled.
From 1015 UTC through 1544 UTC -- GOES-12 Routine Imaging and Soundings.
From 1545 UTC through 1644 UTC -- GOES-12 Full Disk imaging with soundings.
From 1645 UTC through 1714 UTC -- GOES-12 Routine Imaging and Soundings.
*From 1715 UTC through 1844 UTC -- No GOES-12 Imaging or Soundings*
**From 1700 UTC through 1959 UTC -- GOES-10 Full Disk Imaging**
From 18/1845 UTC through 19/0114 UTC -- GOES-12 Post Maneuver Recovery
Including:
  * Full Disk Images (19 minute scan) at XX15 and XX345
  * CONUS Soundings at XX46
0115 UTC November 19 -- GOES-12 Routine Scan Operations Resume
Expect GOES-12 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to 6 hours
following the maneuver.
