EFFECTIVE: 1200 UTC APRIL 20 2004THIS IS A REMINDER THAT THE FOLLOWING CHANGES TO THE PRODUCT DELIVERY TIME OF THE NATIONAL CENTERS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PREDICTION /NCEP/ ETA MODEL WILL OCCUR AT 1200 COORDINATED UNIVERSAL TIME /UTC/ ON TUESDAY APRIL 20 2004. ON THIS DATE THE ETA MODEL FORECASTS WILL BE RUN IN A NEW CONFIGURATION THAT WILL ALLOW FOR THE 0-84 HOUR FORECAST SEGMENT TO BE RUN IN THE CURRENT 0-60 HOUR TIME SLOT. THIS CHANGE WILL BE PERMANENT AND IS EXPECTED TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING IMPACT ON PRODUCT DELIVERY TIMES:
24 HOUR PRODUCTS: 5-10 MINUTES EARLIER 36 HOUR PRODUCTS: 10-15 MINUTES EARLIER 48 HOUR PRODUCTS: 15-20 MINUTES EARLIER 60 HOUR PRODUCTS: 20-25 MINUTES EARLIER 84 HOUR PRODUCTS: 35-40 MINUTES EARLIERCONTRARY TO WHAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED...THE FORECAST LENGTH OF THE ETA BUFR SOUNDINGS WILL NOT BE INCREASED FROM 60 HOURS TO 84 HOURS. THIS CHANGE WILL BE ADVERTISED AT A LATER DATE.
