   NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE /NWS/ CUSTOMERS... WAFS USERS...

REFERENCE TO DATA MGT MESSAGE 04-03.01..NOAAPORT EVOLUTION
REFERENCE TO DATA MGT MESSAGE 07-03.01..NOAAPORT EVOLUTION UPDATE

GOES EAST AND WEST WILL BE COMBINDED AND COMPRESSED.  THIS
RESULTING DATA STREAM WILL BE PLACED ON BOTH GOES CHANNELS.
NON-GOES IMAGERY PRODUCTS WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/2 T1
OCONUS NOAAPORT CHANNEL.  COMBINING THE GOES FEEDS AND MOVING THE
NON-GOES IMAGERY PRODUCTS IS SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 12 2003 AT 15Z.

THE EXISTING NWSTG DATA STREAM WILL BE DUPLICATED ON THE FORMER
GOES WEST CHANNEL STARTING SEPTEMEBER 15 2003.  THE DUPLICATE
FEED ON THE FORMER GOES WEST CHANNEL MAY ONLY BE RECEIVED USING A
DVB-S DEMODULATOR AND IT WILL ONLY RUN IN A TEST MODE FOR ABOUT A
MONTH.  THERE SHOULD BE NO IMPACT TO NOAAPORT USERS.
