CHANGE. THIS CHANGE IN THE SCHEDULE IS NOW BEING REFERRED
TO AS GWINDEX /GOES RAPID SCAN WINDS EXPERIMENT/ WHICH IS
A SUBSET OF THE PACJET EXPERIMENT.

THIS GWINDEX RESEARCH REQUEST IS IN SUPPORT OF THE PACIFIC
LAND FALLING JET EXPERIMENT /PACJET/.IN PACJET...HIGH DENSITY
WINDS WILL BE PRODUCED EXPERIMENTALLY USING MORE FREQUENT

NUMERICAL WEATHER PREDICTION.

BE IN EFFECT FROM 2145Z ON JAN 03... 2001 THROUGH 2145Z ON
MARCH 31... 2001.

THE EFFECTED SCHEDULE AND IMAGES ARE AS FOLLOWS
THE CURRENT SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE IMAGE THAT IS SCANNED
HOURLY AT XX52 WILL BE REPLACED WITH A PACIFIC US /PACUS/
SECTOR. THIS WILL RESULT IN HAVING ONLY ONE SOUTHERN
HEMISPHERE IMAGE AN HOUR DURING ROUTINE SCANNING MODE
AT XX22... AND WILL INCREASE THE TYPICAL COVERAGE OVER THE
WESTERN UNITED STATES TO 5 TIMES PER HOUR AT XX00... XX15...
XX30... XX45... AND XX52. NOTE THAT DUE TO HOUSEKEEPING ON
GOES-10... THERE WILL NOT BE AN ADDITIONAL PACUS
IMAGE AT 0352Z... 1552Z... OR 2152Z... SIMILAR TO THE CURRENT
LACK OF SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE DATA AT THESE TIMES FOR THE
SAME REASON.

SEE HTTP//WWW.SSD.NOAA.GOV/SSD/GOES/WEST/SCHED.HTML FOR
FULL DETAILS ON THE CURRENT SCANNING STRATEGY AND SCANNING
SCHEDULE.

IN THE EVENT OF OPERATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS /FOR EXAMPLE... A
