DEMONSTRATION THE AUTOMATED SURFACE OBSERVATIONS PRODUCED BY THE
ASOSS AT:

      DILLON AIRPORT   (KDLN)
      DILLON... MT  
  
WILL INCLUDE THUNDERSTORM INFORMATION BEGINNING ON OR ABOUT
OCTOBER 8 1999.  THE ASOSS WILL INCORPORATE INFORMATION FROM THE
FAA'S AUTOMATIC LIGHTNING DETECTION AND RANGING SYSTEM (ALDARS)
INTO THE ASOS METAR AND SPECI REPORTS IN THE STANDARD METAR CODE
FORMAT.  NOTE THAT ALDARS ONLY DETECTS CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING. 
THUNDERSTORM INFORMATION HAS NOT PREVIOUSLY BEEN AVAILABLE FOR
THESE UNSTAFFED FAA SERVICE LEVEL D SITES.
