GINI Move April 13, 1999 - Issued 04/08/99

NOTE: GINI relocation at the NOAA Science Center. GINI is the image
processing system which provides weather satellite data to NOAAPORT and
AWIPS.

The following message was received concerning a required hardware
relocation here at the NOAA Science Center. The outage is scheduled to
take advantage of the GOES-8 eclipse/keep out zone period and thus minimize
the loss of GOES-8 data. However, GOES-10 data will be lost during this
period. The outage will ONLY AFFECT NOAAPORT/AWIPS users. All other
processing and data services will be normal during this period. The outage
is scheduled for 0400 UTC on Tuesday, April 13, 1999, and is scheduled for
up to 4 hours, but is not expected to last that long.

Inorder to complete the computer room renovation effort we need to move the
GINI system. I would like to take the GINI down for 2 - 4 hours on April
13 beginning at 0400Z and move it. According to schedule this is during
the east eclips period. During this time no data will be received or
transmitted.

Thank you
