SINCE THE SAN JUAN ... PUERTO RICO ... DOPPLER WEATHER
SURVEILLANCE RADAR (WSR-88D) HAS BEEN COMMISSIONED ... USERS
NOTIFIED AND SERVICES CONFIRMED ... THE MAJOR CRITERIA FOR
DECOMMISSIONING THE WSR-74S AT SAN JUAN (RADAR IDENTIFIER - SJU)
HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.  THEREFORE ... THE SAN JUAN WSR-74S RADAR
WILL BE DECOMMISSIONED OFFICIALLY ON FRIDAY ... FEBRUARY 26 ...
1999.

DECOMMISSIONING MEANS THAT THIS RADAR IS NO LONGER ISSUING
PRODUCTS ... SUCH AS THE RADAR OBSERVATION (ROB) MESSAGE ... IN
AN OFFICIAL CAPACITY.
