SINCE THE SIOUX FALLS ... SOUTH DAKOTA DOPPLER WEATHER
SURVEILLANCE RADAR /WSR-88D/ HAS BEEN COMMISSIONED BY THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ... USERS NOTIFIED AND SERVICES
CONFIRMED ... THE MAJOR CRITERIA FOR DECOMMISSIONING THE WSR-74C
AT SIOUX FALLS /RADAR IDENTIFIER - FSD/ HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. 
THEREFORE ... THE SIOUX FALLS WSR-74C RADAR WILL BE
DECOMMISSIONED OFFICIALLY ON THURSDAY ... OCTOBER 17 ... 1996.
 
DECOMMISSIONING MEANS THAT THIS RADAR IS NO LONGER ISSUING
PRODUCTS ... SUCH AS THE RADAR OBSERVATION /ROB/ MESSAGE ... IN
AN OFFICIAL CAPACITY.
