STANDARD TIME /1600 UNIVERSAL COORDINATED TIME/...THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE /NWS/ WILL TRANSFER SHORT-FUSE WARNING
RESPONSIBILITY FOR EIGHT /8/ COUNTIES IN MICHIGAN /MI/ AND
ADJACENT MARINE WATERS /TABLE 1/ TO THE WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE
/WSO/ IN GRAND RAPIDS /GRR/...MI.  SEVEN /7/ COUNTIES WILL BE
TRANSFERRED FROM THE WSO IN MUSKEGON /MKG/...MI.  ONE /1/ COUNTY
WILL BE TRANSFERRED FROM THE WSO IN HOUGHTON LAKE /HTL/...MI.

     WSO GRR WILL ISSUE SHORT-FUSE WARNING PRODUCTS /TABLE 2/
AND RELATED PRODUCTS THAT GIVE FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION ON THE
WARNINGS /TABLE 3/.  FOR HOLDERS OF NWS OPERATIONS MANUAL CHAPTER
C-47...COUNTY WARNING AREAS...THIS IS THE 8TH UPDATE FOR 1996.

     BECAUSE OF THIS COUNTY WARNING TRANSFER...SUBSCRIBERS TO THE
NOAA WEATHER WIRE SERVICE /NWWS/ AND THE FAMILY OF SERVICES /FOS/
MUST TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO RECEIVE THE SHORT-FUSE WARNINGS
AND RELATED PRODUCTS FOR THESE AREAS USING THE GRR IDENTIFIER
/TABLES 2 AND 3/ INSTEAD OF THE MKG OR HTL IDENTIFIER.  THE
UNIVERSAL GENERIC CODES /UGC/ IN TABLE 1 WILL REMAIN UNCHANGED.
