NATIONAL TECHNICAL INFORMATION MESSAGE 95-06
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HEADQUARTERS
345 PM EST FRI JAN 13 1995

TO: ALL USERS OF NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PRODUCTS

FROM: JOE FRIDAY, DIRECTOR, NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

SUBJECT: NMC UPDATE ON FMH-1 IMPLEMENTATION PROBLEMS (UPDATE #3)

Most of the problems with the generation of the Selected Cities
Summary of observations (max/min temperatures and 24 hour
precipitation) have been corrected and the product, with a few
exceptions which are entered manually, is as good as it was prior
to the FMH-1 format change on January 1, 1995. The Selected
Cities Summaries are being produced automatically, but continue
to be monitored by NMC's Meteorological Operations Division.
Most of the related NMC graphics problems have been corrected as
well.

This will be the last scheduled status message regarding problems
with the recent decoding problems since the FMH-1 implementation
on January 1, 1995. However, you will be informed if other
problems are discovered.
