PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HEADQUARTERS WASHINGTON DC 200 PM EST TUE DEC 6 1994 TO: FAMILY OF SERVICES (FOS) SUBSCRIBERS, NOAA WEATHER WIRE SERVICE (NWWS) SUBSCRIBERS, OTHER NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE (NWS) PRODUCT USERS, NWS EMPLOYEES FROM: DONALD R. WERNLY, CHIEF, WARNING AND FORECAST BRANCH, OFFICE OF METEOROLOGY SUBJECT: CHANGE OF ISSUANCE TIME FOR THE NATIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY (TO 8 P.M. CENTRAL TIME), EFFECTIVE JANUARY 8, 1995 Due to the strong response from users indicating the value of the National Weather Summary, we have agreed to continue this summary, but at a reduced level of one daily issuance until the end of Fiscal Year (FY) 1995 (September 30, 1995). Effective Juanuary 8, 1995, the time is issuance will be changed from 9 p.m. central time to 8 p.m. central time to acommodate more users. The National Weather Summary, issued by the National Severe Storms Forecast Center, has a NWWS header of MKCNWX1 and a FOS header of ABUS1 KWBC. Given current budget projections, we will have to discontinue the National Weather Summary after September 30, 1995. END NNNN
