On August 26, 1994 a Public Information Statement was issued
stating that the National Weather Service was transferring short-
fused warning responsibility for four (4) northern Maine counties
(Table 1) to the Portland/Gray, Maine (PWM) Weather Service
Forecast Office (WSFO) from the Caribou (CAR), Maine Weather
Service Office (WSO) on November 1, 1994. The transfer of these
four counties HAS BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINITELY.

For these counties, WSO CAR will RETAIN short-fuse warning and
related product responsibility. For holders of NWS Operations
Manual Chapter C-47, County Warning Areas, this transfer
postponement is an amendment to the 38th update of 1994 of the
latest chapter issuance.
