SUBJECT: CHARLESTON, WV (CRW) WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE'S
SHORT-FUSE COUNTY WARNING AREA EXPANDS OCTOBER 3, 1994

Effective Monday, October 3, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight
Time, the National Weather Service (NWS) will transfer short-fuse
warning responsibility for 33 counties in West Virginia (15),
southeast Ohio (9), northeast Kentucky (7), and southwest
Virginia (2) (see Table 1) TO the Charleston, West Virginia
(CRW), Weather Service Forecast Office (WSFO). These counties
will be transferred FROM Weather Service Offices (WSO) in West
Virginia (Huntington-HTS, Elkins-EKN, Beckley-BKW), Ohio
(Columbus-CMH, Akron-CAK), and Tennessee (Bristol-TRI).

For these counties, WSFO CRW will issue short-fuse warning
products (Table 2) and related products that give follow-up
information on the warnings (Table 3). For holders of NWS
Operations Manual Chapter C-47, County Warning Areas, this
transfer is the 35th update of 1994.

Because of this county warning transfer, subscribers to the NOAA
Weather Wire Service (NWWS) and the Family of Services (FOS) must
take appropriate action to receive the short-fuse warnings and
related products for these 33 counties using the CRW identifier
(Tables 2 and 3) instead of the HTS, EKN, BKW, CMH, CAK, and TRI
identifiers. For example, if you have been receiving severe
thunderstorm warnings using the identifier CLESVRCMH you will
have to change to CRWSVRCRW. The Universal Generic Codes (UGC),
however, will remain unchanged (as shown in Table 1).

FORECAST OFFICE'S SHORT-FUSE COUNTY WARNING AREA
EXPANDS INTO DELAWARE AND EASTERN MARYLAND ON OCTOBER
          3, 1994 (FINAL PHASE).

Effective Monday, October 3, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight
Time, the National Weather Service (NWS) will transfer short-fuse
warning responsibility for five counties in northeastern Maryland
and all counties (three) in Delaware (Table 1) TO the
Philadelphia Pennsylvania/Mount Holly, New Jersey (PHL), Weather
Service Forecast Office (WSFO), FROM Weather Service Offices
(WSO) in Baltimore (BWI), Maryland and Wilmington (ILG),
Delaware. For these counties, WSFO PHL will issue short-fuse
warning products (Table 2) and related products that give follow-
up information on the warnings (Table 3). For holders of NWS
Operations Manual Chapter C-47, County Warning Areas, this
transfer is the 36th update of 1994.

Because of this county warning transfer, subscribers to the NOAA
Weather Wire Service (NWWS) and the Family of Services (FOS) must
take appropriate action to receive the short-fuse warnings and
related products for these eight counties using the PHL
identifier (Tables 2 and 3) instead of the BWI and ILG
identifiers. For example, if you have been receiving severe
thunderstorm warnings using the identifiers WBCSVRBWI and
WBCSVRILG you will have to change to PHLSVRPHL. The Universal
Generic Codes (UGC) for the counties, however, will remainunchanged (as
shown in Table 1).
