Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.

[netcdfgroup] 2025 NSF Unidata Community Survey: Share your insights, support and community progress

Hello NetCDF Community,

NSF Unidata and the Users Committee have launched the 2025 Community
Survey: Share your insights, support community progress. Your voice plays a
critical role in shaping how NSF Unidata provides support to the Earth
systems science community. This survey is designed to assess your top
priorities, which resources serve you best, and which challenges remain.
This anonymous survey will take roughly 15 minutes to complete.

Take the survey
<https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/a26cce3978904a308cc8ee6572eb15d5>

After submitting your responses, you will have the opportunity to be
entered into a drawing for one of 10 NSF Unidata swag bags. Swag bags will
include an NSF Unidata lunchbox and other items such as a hat, cup, pens,
or stickers.

As you may have heard, the NSF Unidata Program is currently experiencing a
funding gap as a result of the funding freeze by the U.S. National Science
Foundation (see NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations
<https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/blogs/news/entry/nsf-unidata-pause-in-most>
for details). NSF Unidata and the Users Committee feel it is important to
continue collecting feedback via this survey so that the program center can
continue to serve the broad Earth Systems Science community’s interests
after returning to work.

During this period, if you have questions about distributing the survey to
your community members please get in touch with NSF Unidata Users Committee
members Alex Davies at the U.S. Naval Academy (adavies@xxxxxxxx) or Brian
Tang at the University at Albany (btang@xxxxxxxxxx).

Together, we can ensure our offerings evolve to meet the changing needs of
Earth systems science. Your insights support community progress. Thank you
for being part of this important process.

Sincerely,

-Ward
