Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
What's new? Version 5.0.6 brings a few bug-fixes that only affect ncremap and ncclimo users. Others can skip 5.0.6. Work on NCO 5.0.7 has commenced and will improve ncremap support for mbtempest, incorporate new mbtempest improvements, and further improve support for quantization/compression algorithms. Enjoy, Charlie NEW FEATURES (full details always in ChangeLog): A. None BUG FIXES: A. ncclimo and ncremap provided by the E3SM-Unified on login nodes (i.e., Conda, by Spack as on compute nodes) were unable to find any Conda binaries when invoked within scripts (i.e., not interactively from the command line) in corner case situations. The solution is to avoid corner cases. Just kidding. The solution is to upgrade. Thanks to Wuyin Lin for reporting this. B. ncremap 5.0.5 sometimes overwrote user-specified values of sgs_frc that were passed from ncclimo. This prevented ncremap from working with sgs_frc variables in external files. The workaround is to run ncremap separately from ncclimo. The solution is to upgrade. C. ncclimo sometimes invoked the Bash basename() intrinsic on non-existent arrays. This was annoying though non-fatal. Fixed. D. ncclimo in timeseries mode would warn users to provide caseid or fml_nm even though it did not need them. Fixed. Thanks to Jill Zhang for reporting.
