Hello all,

We are pleased to announce the availability of netCDF 4.4.0, Release
Candidate 1. Highlights of this release include:

   - The ability to open netCDF data “in memory” using nc_open_mem() and a
   pointer to a block of netCDF data.
   - Added an authorization reference document as oc2/ocauth.html.

in addition to numerous bug fixes and optimizations. See the release notes
