Hi Frederico,I have moved to the beta release of the fortran library, which works fine for me on Ubuntu 12.10. Also the "make check" runs without problems (giving me some confidence).
I have installed on our systems:hdf5-1.8.10, netcdf-4.2.1.1, netcdf-fortran-4.4-beta1 and netcdf-cxx4-4.2
