Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
Is it possible to recover a NetCDF-4 file after a system crash? My system crashed while a NetCDF-4 file was open for writing. The file has an unlimited dimension which is used by all variables in the file. According to ncdump, the value of this dimension is 0 hence none of the variable data are available. The actual value of this dimension is definitely not zero (the file is several GB in size).
FAQ (http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/faq.html) has instructions for recovering files in the classic and 64-bit offset formats. Would something similar work for a NetCDF-4 format?
