Howdy all! The netCDF distribution is being split up, with the C++ and Fortran libraries becoming independent distributions. The 4.2-beta2 releases of the new C++ library, netcdf-cxx4, and the deprecated C++ library, netcdf-cxx (released for backward compatibility) are now available on the Unidata ftp server: ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/netcdf-cxx4-4.2-beta2.tar.gz ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/netcdf-cxx-4.2-beta2.tar.gz These libraries require that the netCDF C library be installed. No C++ API changes have taken place since the 4.1.3 release of these libraries - the only thing new about the 4.2 release is that the libraries are packaged separately from the netCDF C library. New projects should use the new C++ API. We do not intend further development of the deprecated API.
