Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
Strictly speaking I think this is more of a Intel compiler installation question, but no joy on other fora and since it's stopping me compile netCDF: Has anybody got icc 8.x up and running under Debian? I downloaded the files from the Intel site, used 'alien' to convert to .deb packages, used dpg to install them and then changed all INSTALLDIR to the actual directory name, all as per Intel instructions. Everything was working fine (eg compiled up mpich) until tried to compile netCDF - the error is that icc cannot find <iostream>. What is strange is that g++ has no problems. I therefore guess (maybe wrongly) that something else needs to be done during the install of icc... If people wish to reply to me direct, I'll summarise the (if any!) solution once it's all up and working. Thanks Michael
