Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
Hi All, Support for the netCDF's new 64-bit offset format files is in NCO. This feature will be released in NCO 3.0.0 shortly after Unidata releases netCDF 3.6. By default NCO operators will create the "classic" 32-bit file format. When invoked with the new -Z or --64-bit-offset switches, NCO operators will create the new 64-bit offset files. The final release date of netCDF 3.6, and hence NCO 3.0.0, is unknown. If you want/need the new large file functionality now, then CVS check-out the current head of NCO from nco.sf.net, and build it with the netCDF-beta6 or greater library. See http://nco.sf.net/nco.html#lfs for more details and see http://nco.sf.net#bld_chn on how to build NCO versions > 2.9.9 (i.e., the current snapshot) with netCDF versions < 3.6.
