Hi Ana, Something like ncks -d time,0,11 sst_jan1978_sep1993.nc 78.nc ncks -d time,12,23 sst_jan1978_sep1993.nc 79.nc ncea 78.nc 79.nc 7879avg.nc might work. It's possible the averaging will make the headers unusable by CCM. If that happens just use ncks to patch anything that was averaged that shouldn't have been. See the manual for examples.
