Wilensky" <dew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> writes: I resolved the problem on the latest version, netcdf-2.3.4 and linux kernel 1.2.24, slackware 2.2 distribution by simply removing the fortran targets in the top level makefile. ------- I tried this, but found that the compilation failed first on ncdump (although I entered that directory myself and compiled it without a problem) and then nctest. I think nctest was requesting an object file from the fortran directory (although i can't interprit the makefiles very well.) Is that the only modification you made? Alistair
