Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
In response to Skip Montanaro's lament: >> Like Steve Jardin, I've been somewhat swamped with netCDF mail messages >> lately, most of which I just skim then delete. Rather than getting off the >> mailing list altogether, however, I think it might be time to consider some >> sort of automated digestification of the messages sent to the list. - Vicki Halliwell suggests a UseNet Newsgroup - I agree with that - I know I would like to see the netCDF mail reflector monitored to contain only approved announcements of general interest. I suggest the Newsgroup should be christened something titillating like _self describing data sets_, rather than restricting ourselves to netCDF. That shouldn't threaten any rice bowls in this community, as most of us feel netCDF will compete very well with any _other_ self describing data set paradigms, else we wouldn't be here. - Mike **************** Mike DeVaney ****************** * Pacific Northwest Laboratory * (509) 375-2435 * * Battelle Boulevard m/s K1-87 * FAX (509) 375-6631 * * Richland, WA 99352 * dm_devaney@xxxxxxx * ********************************************************
