Does anybody have a reliable netCDF FORTRAN(f77) generator for use with ncgen and the -f option on a sparc2? My student and I tried to get the example working in section 10.1 of the netCDF manual and found 5 errors under f77 including data statements generated after the declaration section of code, undimensioned variables that appear in data statements, lines that are longer than 72 characters, improper value in the lon2 array.
