NCGEN linking problem with Turbo-C

Hello NetCDF friends,

I am a newcomer to the NetCDF suite of programs. I am presently evaluating
the suitability of this software for one of our projects. I could generate
the whole package on our VAX/VMS cluster and most of it on a MSDOS PC with
Turbo-C. I have some problems though with NCGEN, as TLINK gives the error
message : Turbo-Link error : DGROUP: segment/group exceeds 64 k. The problem
here is obviously (?) the static allocation of the 'dims', 'vars' and 'atts'
structure arrays.

Did anybody run into the same problem ? Any fixes (dynamic allocation,
maximal dimensions ?) or hints to work around this ?

Thank you very much for any help and have a happy holiday season.

Best regards,
Hanspeter Gubler
