Hi Paul,
My understanding of how the LDM ingests NOAAPort data is that the data
coming over these SBN channels is routed to the feedtypes we all know and
love based on the data itself, such that these channels are effectively
irrelevant to LDM end users. My hope would be that this is a benign change
to us, akin to some of these other changes they've been making recently
(iirc there weren't any notable disruptions but I might be misremembering).
If you are a NOAAPort receive site and you split the multicast addresses
into different log files along the lines of this page (
https://docs.unidata.ucar.edu/ldm/current/utilities/noaaport/index.html)
then you might see some mix up with those logged messages, but I _think_
that would be the worst of it.
As the SCN advises, I would highly recommend that users be on alert when
these changes are implemented, currently scheduled for August 19th 1400
UTC. In the event you DO see impactful changes, please make some noise on
this list.
Best,
-Mike
