[ldm-users] LDM 6.12.14 crashing on only one machine, need help

Hello everyone,

I guess this is a good a time as any to announce that after 7 or 8 years, weather, weather2, and weather3.admin.niu.edu have just all been replaced, in a span of one week! We hope this provides service improvement to our downstream customers. But I am having a vexing issue, and even Steve Emmerson is at a loss to explain it. So, I am going to throw it out to the group.

At least once a day, and only on weather3.admin.niu.edu, the LDM crashes and dumps core. The queue does not become corrupt, so an "ldmadmin restart" gets it going again. The servers should be pretty much identical, but that doesn't mean that there aren't nuances, or I forgot to install something. In any case, LDM 6.12.14 compiles on weather3 without any unusual warning or error messages.

But then it crashes, and here is the stack trace from one of the core files:

Does anyone have an idea of what I am doing wrong? Is there a package or something that I forgot to install?
