Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
We've finally got our new monster machine ready to go. We have 1Gbps of capacity on it...and we're consolidating most of our data onto that machine. (It's in Tampa, Florida.) However, we still have two other LDM servers as well. If you need primary or backup feeds -- or if you can offer *us* feeds to that server -- definitely let me know. We can accommodate you, I'm sure. But...basically...I'm begging for peers for the new server, since we want to take in just about everything (and, in turn, share it). That thought continues in the paragraph below... *If anyone at UNIDATA wants to talk to us about being a tier 1/2 provider (or you know with whom I should speak about that), also **please let me know**. * We have *lots *of bandwidth and powerful servers -- and we definitely want to help disseminate and distribute the data (and relieve the burden of academia and the government having to do most of that). So...UNIDATA peoples...reach out to me and we can discuss that on a separate, private thread. It's also worth mentioning that we have plans to bring online another 1Gbps server next year on the west coast, too... Hope everyone is having a great...whatever you call this time of year. :) ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ Blair Trosper Updraft Networks NOC: 844-UPDRAFT Early Watch Notifications: http://twitter.com/weatherwatches
