The following was just sent out, too... looks like the GOES-13 failure might be hard... ***************************** 572 NOUS42 KWNO 241720 ADMNFD SENIOR DUTY METEOROLOGIST INTERNATIONAL ADMIN MESSAGE NWS NCEP CENTRAL OPERATIONS COLLEGE PARK MD 1719Z MON SEP 24 2012 NOAA/NESDIS IS PREPARING TO SWITCH TO GOES-14 TO PROVIDE GOES-EAST COVERAGE AT 1745Z TODAY. THE GOES-14 IMAGERY WILL BE TRANSMITTED THROUGH THE GOES-13 (GOES-EAST) SATELLITE FEED TO MINIMIZE IMPACT FROM THIS EMERGENCY CHANGE. THERE WILL BE VERY MINOR DIFFERENCES IN GOES-E PRODUCT SCHEDULE/TIMING FOLLOWING THIS TRANSITION. GOES-15 WILL REMAIN IN FULL DISK MODE FOR SOME TIME...TO ALLOW REDUNDANT COVERAGE WHILE WE VERIFY THE SUCCESS OF THIS CHANGE. RSO REQUESTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WHILE GOES-W REMAINS IN FULL DISK MODE.
