Before Christmas break, we took some nasty power hits and outages that took us offline for much of a day or so. This morning, we took another one as a ComEd line off-campus failed and brought down the power on the west side of campus where our NOAAport server is. While that server is back up, I've been advised that we need to replacesome major centralized IT equipment tonight or else the whole system goes kerblooey. Our Internet services will probably be down from roughly 2:45Z until 11Z tonight into tomorrow morning. I apologize for the inconvenience, and please make sure you have your backups ready.
