Re: GFS forecast snowfall?

Please forgive a novice question, but the following email caught my
attention.....

I'm looking for a way to get the exact same GFS files and WAVEWATCH
files available from NCEP's ftp machine (same format, not thinned grids).
Is the CONDUIT a way to do that?

Robert,

The 1x1 degree grids contain the "water equiv of accumulated snow 
depth" rather than a converted depth of snow. You will find this in the
GEMPAK parameters as "SWEM".

An inventofy of the GFS files is available at:
