Re: [idvusers] IDV fatal error

Hi Jeremy...

The D3D "version" is just a command line switch. If you look in the
runIDV.bat file, you will see a comment in there about how to run in
this mode.  I know others have seen occasional issues with ATI cards;
however, since you can run this as Admin, unless there are some other
underlying issues, it sounds not like a hardware issue.

One other thing, the IDV must create and be able to write into a
directory in the "home" of the user....this directory keeps the state
of the session and other user-specific information (python user
library, bundles, etc.). If you want everyone on the machine to run
as a single "user" from this perspective, you would need to use a
command-line option: -userpath <dir>. In any event, it might boil
down to just how "restricted" your restricted user accounts are....

You can see all the command line options by manually running the IDV
(that is, open a command prompt window, cd into the install directory,
and type:  runIDV -help

Hope some of this helps. I'm cc:ing back to the list, just for the record.
