Hi gembud folks,

Since it isn't clear to me if/when the Unidata GEMPAK repository will be updated, I took the liberty of creating a fork that includes a few bug fixes and one new feature.  I added GNU Readline support to the GEMPAK prompt (Linux only), so that you can indeed now use the arrow keys (and other shortcuts like Ctrl-a, etc.,) to your heart's content.

You can checkout my 'develop' branch if you are interested:
https://github.com/sgdecker/gempak/tree/develop

I don't anticipate making any further changes myself, but would certainly entertain pull requests.  Note that the way I added Readline support probably broke the build for anything but gfortran on Linux.

I have been testing this branch (in a very loose sense of the word test) over the last few weeks, and it seems OK, but I should probably be clear: Use at your own risk!

Sincerely,
Steve
