[gembud] GEMPAK 6

You know how they have the watch template and stuff. They should include
like a md/outlook one lol.. I wonder if they have a text editor within LINUX
to do that... The PWO's are like a watch, because they show the regions, but
I wonder if it's typed or not lol... hmm.. would be cool to see that type of
stuff in there :)

Rob, I currently have 5.11.4. I still have the CD I bought from you, but I
have a spare computer, and I put GEMPAK on it by myself.. Running 5.11.4. It
works nice, but the only thing, I cannot get the models to pull in.

Any progress on this? It looks like NCEP is now on to version 6.2... At
the least can we get those updated tables?

Rob and GEMPAK Users:

Unidata is planning to release GEMPAK 6.0/6.1 this summer.

GEMPAK 5.11.4 is the current release and is available at
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/gempak/

Some minor code updates and bug fixes for 5.11.4 are currently underway,
with plans to roll the 6.0/6.1 NCEP updates into Unidata's GEMPAK package
soon after.

FYI the NCEP release notes for 6.0 and 6.1 can be found at
http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/sib/nawips/ - 6.1 is described as a "minor
release with bug fixes, table updates and one main modification which are
outlined below."

NCEP has scheduled the 6.2 release (hopefully) for Tuesday, 9/28. I'll
host the updated tables then and follow up on gembud for those who want
them right away.

Unidata's 6.2 release will follow, but I don't have an exact release date.
