Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.
(We are going to overlay this data on radar imagery using NAWIPS.)So one question remains - what is the format of an ascii data file that is decodable by dcnldn?

The dcnldn distributed with GEMPAK is for the SUNY ascii feed. Lightning data is proprietary, and universities have access through the IDD network for academic use. The dcnldn is used for that purpose. You would need to contact either Vaisala or WDT if you desire lightning data for commercial use.On Apr 15, 2008, at 12:25 PM, pmanousos@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:Hi..I could not find the following information explicitly or implicitly defined on the support archives or in the decoder documentation:Does dcnldn accept ASCII input - if so what is the format of an ascii data file that is decodable by dcnldn?Pete
